Eco-Health, Ecosystems and Watersheds Workshop
The Coldwater Indian Band and Fraser Basin Council co-hosted "Eco-Health, Ecosystems and Watersheds" in the fall of 2011, bringing together 40 participants to explore watershed issues in the Nicola Valley, including climate change impacts, and ways that eco-health and traditional ecological knowledge can be better integrated into watershed management.
This workshop was funded by Health Canada, the Coldwater Indian Band, the Southern Interior Beetle Action Coalition, Suwix Resources Ltd. and the Upper Nicola Band. For other recent water workshops, see Fostering Collaborative Responses to Hydrological Changes in the Nicola Watersheds (March 2011) and Hydrological Impacts of Mountain Pine Beetle in the Fraser River Basin (2010 and 2011).
