    The Planning phase begins with a creating the process and or work plan for addressing sustainability planning. Work plans will include opportunities for community involvement gathered through a variety of engagement strategies. Communities in British Columbia are exploring creative ways to reach a wide and diverse spectrum of the community, including children, youth and seniors and people of many cultural backgrounds. Our Work

Smart Planning for Communities (SPC) is a BC-wide collaborative initiative to assist local and First Nations governments in addressing their long-term sustainability challenges by providing resources and tools for planning socially, culturally, economically and environmentally sustainable communities. Advisory Group

To provide future strategic oversight and direction
for Smart Planning for Communities program, a specialized advisory group including funders, experts in community sustainability planning and implementation will guide the SPC Program with the necessary strategic and operational guidance over the next three years.
