Staff Profile

Stephanie Chong

Youth Program Coordinator

Stephanie joined the Fraser Basin Council in 2021 as the Youth Program Coordinator.

Stephanie has been an experiential / environmental educator for over 12 years. She was inspired by an internship at 17 and never looked back! Previously, Stephanie coordinated learning and education opportunities at museum and science centre settings, including at two aquariums and a sea turtle hospital, and she has worked as a forest school teacher. Her strengths are in educational program design, inquiry learning, youth leadership and volunteer coordination. Stephanie believes strongly in encouraging curiosity and a shared sense of community with everyone she works with. Her goal is for everyone to be connected to the land so that we can be better ambassadors for where we live.

Stephanie holds a B.Sc. (honours) in Environmental Science & Geography from Queen's University as well as a M.E.d in Museum Education from the University of British Columbia.

Our Vision

About the Fraser Basin Council

The Fraser Basin Council (FBC) is a charitable non-profit organization that brings people together to advance sustainability in the Fraser River Basin and throughout BC. Established in 1997, FBC is a collaboration of four orders of government (federal, provincial, local and First Nations) along with those from the private sector and civil society. We work with people in multiple sectors, helping them find collaborative solutions to today’s issues through a commitment to the social, economic and environmental dimensions of sustainability. Our focus is on healthy water and watersheds, action on climate change and air quality and strong, resilient communities and regions.
