Quesnel & Area
The Quesnel and Area Community Wildfire Preparedness Roundtable supports the effective coordination and communication of roles among the organizations responsible for different aspects of wildfire preparedness in the region.

Quesnel Community Wildfire Roundtable members visit the Marsh Pinnacles wildfire risk reduction project site on May 5 ahead of the Roundtable’s Spring meeting. This 15-hectare site southwest of Quesnel was treated (through tree thinning, sorting and processing logs, chipping material for bioenergy use, and other techniques) to decrease fuel in what is a high-risk rated wildfire area. The aim is to reduce wildfire risk, reduce the potential for crown fire initiation, reduce fire intensity and rate of spread, and create opportunities for fire suppression. Photo: Mike Simpson.
