Programs and Services

FBC workshop facilitation

The Fraser Basin Council supports collaborative work for a healthy environment, a vibrant economy and the well-being of BC’s families, neighbourhoods and communities

What We Do

The Fraser Basin Council offers services in three key roles:

  • Facilitator and Strategic Convener
  • Educator
  • Program Manager

A Look at our Work

Over the past 26 years, the Fraser Basin Council has delivered services on a wide variety of collaborative initiatives.

We have a track record in facilitating processes and managing programs in areas such as community sustainability planning, disaster risk reduction, climate change mitigation and adaptation initiatives, sustainability education, sustainability indicators and more. We are inspired to work with BC communities and organizations that are advancing sustainability through collaborative action and engagement.

Working Throughout BC

The Fraser Basin Council traditionally focused on the communities and watersheds of the Fraser Basin. Our work has expanded over the years and we now partner on initiatives in other regions too and those that serve all of BC.

Our multi-disciplinary staff are based in five offices and other locations. We work with governments, public and private agencies, businesses, industries, academic institutions, non-profits and other sectors, and with the many individuals participating in initiatives.

About the Fraser Basin Council

The Fraser Basin Council (FBC) is a charitable non-profit organization that brings people together to advance sustainability in British Columbia.

Where We Work

We are grateful to live and work on the unceded ancestral territories of the Indigenous Nations of British Columbia.

Our Vision

Social well-being supported by a vibrant economy and sustained by a healthy environment.

Strategic Priorities

At the Fraser Basin Council, our strategic priorities are to take action on climate change, support healthy watersheds and water resources, and build sustainable and resilient communities.

With our partners, we work on a range of collaborative, multi-sector initiatives, such as those focused on flood management, community wildfire planning, air quality improvement, energy-efficient buildings, green transportation (including the uptake of electric vehicles and expansion of charging infrastructure), watershed planning and youth-driven climate action projects.
