Community Open Houses

swc_poster_final_150px.jpgThanks to everyone who attended one of the Shuswap Watershed Council's open house meetings during the summer of 2014 in Chase, Falkland, Sicamous, Salmon Arm, Scotch Creek, Enderby and Sorrento.

The open houses were an opportunity for Shuswap residents and visitors to learn about recent findings on water quality in the region and about a proposed new Water Quality Program. SWC also invited and received comments online.

If you would like to learn more about the work of the Shuswap Watershed Council, find details on this site and in our narrated PowerPoint presentation. The presentation is a large file. You can download it first, then open in PowerPoint and watch in presentation mode. See the presentation.

In May 2015 the Shuswap Watershed Council developed and endorsed a new five-year program (2016-2020) on water quality and recreational safety education.

Our Vision

Social well-being supported by a vibrant economy and sustained by a healthy environment.

About the Fraser Basin Council

The Fraser Basin Council (FBC) is a charitable non-profit organization that brings people together to advance sustainability in the Fraser River Basin and throughout BC. Established in 1997, FBC is a collaboration of four orders of government (federal, provincial, local and First Nations) along with those from the private sector and civil society. We work with people in multiple sectors, helping them find collaborative solutions to today’s issues through a commitment to the social, economic and environmental dimensions of sustainability. Our focus is on healthy water and watersheds, action on climate change and air quality and strong, resilient communities and regions.
