Assistant Regional Manager, Fraser Valley

staff_ctoth.jpgChristina Toth is the Fraser Basin Council's Assistant Regional Manager for the Fraser Valley.

Christina is guiding two air quality projects in the region. One is the adaption of an extensive teacher resource package on air quality, a new initiative for the Fraser Basin Council that is developed in partnership with the Fraser Valley Regional District. The materials raise awareness of the unique nature of the Fraser Valley airshed and will be distributed to classrooms across the central and eastern Fraser Valley.

Christina is also helping to coordinate the Burn it Clean project in the Fraser Valley, which assists those who use wood burning stoves to use best practices in operation of the appliances in order to reduce particulate matter in their communities. She also plays a supporting role on a number of other FBC initiatives in the Fraser Valley.

Christina has a degree in English from Simon Fraser University and a journalism certificate from Vancouver Community College. She has worked as a journalist and freelance communications specialist for 24 years, starting at the Abbotsford News, and later as a senior writer and interim editor at the Abbotsford Mission Times for 12 years.

About the Fraser Basin Council

The Fraser Basin Council (FBC) is a charitable non-profit organization that brings people together to advance sustainability in British Columbia.

Where We Work

We are grateful to live and work on the unceded ancestral territories of the Indigenous Nations of British Columbia.

Our Vision

Social well-being supported by a vibrant economy and sustained by a healthy environment.

Strategic Priorities

At the Fraser Basin Council, our strategic priorities are to take action on climate change, support healthy watersheds and water resources, and build sustainable and resilient communities.

With our partners, we work on a range of collaborative, multi-sector initiatives, such as those focused on flood management, community wildfire planning, air quality improvement, energy-efficient buildings, green transportation (including the uptake of electric vehicles and expansion of charging infrastructure), watershed planning and youth-driven climate action projects.
